भागवत पुराण सृष्टि-उत्पत्ति-अग्नि पुराण
सृष्टि-उत्पत्ति के सन्दर्भ में इस पुराण में कहा गया है- एकोऽहम्बहुस्यामि। अर्थात् एक से बहुत होने की इच्छा के फलस्वरूप भगवान स्वयं अपनी माया से अपने स्वरूप में काल, कर्म और स्वभाव को स्वीकार कर लेते हैं।
तब काल से तीनों गुणों- सत्व, रज और तम में क्षोभ उत्पन्न होता है तथा स्वभाव उस क्षोभ को रूपान्तरित कर देता है। तब कर्म गुणों के महत्त्व को जन्म देता है जो क्रमश: अहंकार, आकाश, वायु तेज, जल, पृथ्वी, मन, इन्द्रियाँ और सत्व में परिवर्तित हो जाते हैं।
इन सभी के परस्पर मिलने से व्यष्टि-समष्टि रूप पिंड और ब्रह्माण्ड की रचना होती है। यह ब्रह्माण्ड रूपी अण्डां एक हज़ार वर्ष तक ऐसे ही पड़ा रहा। फिर भगवान ने उसमें से सहस्त्र मुख और अंगों वाले विराट पुरुष को प्रकट किया। उस विराट पुरुष के मुख से ब्राह्मण, भुजाओं से क्षत्रिओं से क्षत्रिय, जांघों से वैश्य और पैरों से शूद्र उत्पन्न हुए।
विराट पुरुष रूपी नर से उत्पन्न होने के कारण जल को ‘नार’ कहा गया। यह नार ही बाद में ‘नारायण’ कहलाया। कुल दस प्रकार की सृष्टियाँ बताई गई हैं।
महत्तत्व, अहंकार, तन्मात्र, इन्दियाँ, इन्द्रियों के अधिष्ठाता देव ‘मन’ और अविद्या- ये छह प्राकृत सृष्टियाँ हैं। इनके अलावा चार विकृत सृष्टियाँ हैं, जिनमें स्थावर वृक्ष, पशु-पक्षी, मनुष्य और देव आते हैं।
Bhagavata Purana Creation-Origin-Agni Purana
In the context of creation, it has been said in this Purana – Ekohambhusyami. That is, as a result of the desire to be many from one, God himself accepts time, karma and nature in his form through his illusion.
Then anger arises in all the three gunas- sattva, rajas and tamas from time and nature transforms that anger. Then action gives rise to the significance of the gunas, which are respectively transformed into ego, sky, air, fire, water, earth, mind, senses and essence.
When all these meet together, the body and the universe are created. This universe-like egg remained like this for one thousand years. Then the Lord revealed from him a great man with a thousand faces and limbs. Brahmins were born from the mouth of that gigantic man, Kshatriyas from Kshatriyas from arms, Vaishyas from thighs and Shudras from feet.
Water was called ‘Nar’ because it was born from a man in the form of a great man. This slogan was later called ‘Narayan’. Total ten types of creations have been described.
Importance, ego, tanmatra, senses, mind, the presiding deity of the senses and ignorance – these are the six natural creations. Apart from these, there are four perverted creations, in which immovable trees, animals and birds, humans and gods come.
